Titus Glover has been elected the National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the party’s National Delegates Conference held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The former Greater Accra Regional Minister emerged victorious in a closely contested race, polling 2,964 votes.
His closest contender, Ali Maiga, polled 2,231 votes, while Kwame A. Prempeh secured 445 votes. Agyenim Boateng polled 105 votes, Emmanuel Korsi Bordja 135 votes, and Archibold Korletey 85 votes.
The election formed part of the NPP’s national executive elections, which brought together more than 7,000 delegates to elect officers to nine national positions.
Former General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu, was also elected National Chairman.
Mr Boadu polled 2,088 votes to defeat former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko, who secured 2,048 votes, and former National Chairman Paul Afoko, who polled 490 votes.
His victory followed a last-minute alliance with Sammy Crabbe, who stepped down from the chairmanship race and urged his supporters to vote for Mr Boadu.
Mr Crabbe announced the alliance on Saturday as voting got underway at the conference.
Mr Boadu had also been among the leading contenders in several pre-election surveys conducted ahead of the election.
Meanwhile, Justin Frimpong Kodua has been re-elected as the NPP’s General Secretary.
Mr Kodua secured 4,486 votes in the fiercely contested election.
Former Member of Parliament for Ngleshie Amanfro, Sylvester Tetteh, followed with 1,340 votes, while Eugene Boakye Antwi and Dr Charles Dwamena polled 162 and 126 votes respectively.
Abanga Fuseini Yakubu was also elected the NPP’s National Youth Organiser.
He polled 1,550 votes to defeat five other aspirants who contested the position.
Alfred Kumi Ababio polled 25 votes, Vera Oye Bram-Larbi had 44, Michael Osei Boateng secured 78, while Clement Opoku Gyamfi polled 631 votes.
Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei Asamoah, the then Deputy National Youth Organiser, polled 46 votes.
The elections form part of the NPP’s efforts to elect new national executives to lead the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
