The NDC-USA Chapter has held an engagement with Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, Victor Smith, at the Ambassador’s residence on Saturday, September 12, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen unity, improve coordination and forge closer collaboration among members of the party in the United States.
The meeting provided an open and respectful platform for Chapter executives, members and the Council of Elders to discuss challenges confronting the organisation and explore practical ways of strengthening the NDC-USA family.
Addressing the gathering, the Ambassador acknowledged the geographical spread of the NDC-USA Chapter and called for greater cohesion and sustained engagement among members.
He said his ongoing outreach across the United States would continue to include engagements with NDC members, stressing that “we want us a unified body and become a force to reckon with.”
He further proposed greater use of virtual meetings to maintain regular communication with members across the various states and pledged to listen to their concerns and work towards resolving challenges where possible.
The Ambassador’s wife, Mrs. Adwoa Smith, also urged members to move beyond complaints and take personal responsibility for driving positive change.
“Let’s start with action now. And let’s stop the complaints. Start with a solution and we will all join you,” she said, encouraging members to take initiative and contribute meaningfully to the strengthening of the party.
The engagement also featured an interactive session during which members openly shared concerns, including difficulties accessing the Ambassador and the need for stronger communication between the diplomatic mission and the NDC-USA branches.
Members appealed for more direct channels of engagement, particularly with branches within the Washington, D.C. area.
In a gesture of appreciation and solidarity, the Council of Elders presented a parcel to the Ambassador, expressing their support and assuring him that the Chapter remains available to assist whenever needed.
The meeting ended on a positive note, with participants reaffirming the importance of unity, open communication and collective action towards building a stronger and more effective NDC-USA Chapter.
