President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in London for a working visit focused on strengthening economic cooperation between Ghana and the United Kingdom, promoting investment opportunities, and engaging with the Ghanaian community abroad.
He was received on arrival by Lord Katz of the Royal Household, Gordon Wetherell, Special Representative of the Secretary of State for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, and Sabah Zita Benson.
The visit will include a royal audience with King Charles III and a breakfast meeting with Keir Starmer, highlighting the enduring diplomatic ties between Ghana and the United Kingdom.
In a statement issued by Presidential Spokesperson and Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the visit is expected to showcase Ghana as an attractive destination for investment while strengthening engagement with the Ghanaian diaspora.
As part of the programme, President Mahama will participate in a town hall meeting with Ghanaians living in the UK, organised by the Ghana High Commission in London.
He is also scheduled to open the Ghana–United Kingdom Investment Summit at Raffles on Monday. The summit is expected to bring together Ghanaian businesses and British investors to explore new investment opportunities and deepen commercial partnerships.
During the visit, the President will further promote Ghana’s profile in international financial markets as a guest of the London Stock Exchange, where he will ring the opening bell to commence trading.
He will additionally deliver addresses at Chatham House and the 12th Africa Debate at the Guildhall.
The visit forms part of Ghana’s broader strategy to deepen international partnerships, attract foreign direct investment, and support the country’s economic transformation agenda.
President Mahama is expected to conclude the visit on June 3, 2026.
