Kessben Media, operators of the popular Kessben FM station, has suspended one of its presenters, Rexford Kwadwo Adu Ntim, widely known as DJ K.A, after an intimate video involving him began circulating widely on social media platforms. The company has simultaneously launched a formal internal investigation into the matter to establish the full facts.
In a statement released on July 24, 2026, management of Kessben Media declared that it “does not condone such acts” and firmly dissociated its brand from the conduct of the staff member involved.
The organisation confirmed that DJ K.A has been directed to remain off duty for the duration of the inquest. Management added that he would be provided with counselling, rehabilitation support, and legal assistance where necessary to help him manage the personal and professional trauma arising from the episode.
Kessben Media further appealed to members of the public to refrain from sharing or redistributing the sensitive material.
The company cited both cybersecurity concerns and existing laws that regulate the possession and circulation of intimate content without consent. Officials stressed that the organisation would not shield any individual found to be complicit in the creation, storage, or distribution of the material.
According to sources in Kumasi, a pendrive containing several additional personal recorded intimate videos of DJ K.A—distinct from the footage already circulating online—has been handed over to Kessben management.
This development is understood to have influenced the decision to require the presenter to stay away from work for a period while investigations continue.
DJ K.A had earlier issued a public apology in which he accepted full responsibility for recording the video while denying that he had deliberately released it. “I take full responsibility for my actions. Recording the video was a serious error in judgment, and I deeply regret the decision that led to this unfortunate incident,” he stated.
He described the footage as a “part of my past” recorded four years earlier and appealed for forgiveness from his family, fans, and the wider public.
Kumasi-based radio presenter Ama Parone, who has been linked to the video, has also issued a public apology.
She confirmed her appearance in the footage but characterised it as part of a past of which she is not proud. Speaking warmly of DJ K.A, she referred to him as a mentor who played an important role in shaping her career and expressed the hope that he would emerge stronger from the controversy.
The incident has generated significant discussion within Ghana’s media circles, with attention focused both on the personal consequences for those involved and on the broader responsibilities of media houses when private material involving their staff enters the public domain.
