Dr. Joyce Emefa Addo-Klah, a dedicated Ghanaian physician and health advocate, was officially honored over the weekend at the prestigious Africa’s 100 Legendary Awards. The ceremony, held in Kigali, celebrates exceptional individuals across the continent who are driving impactful change in their respective fields.
Dr. Addo-Klah was recognized for her outstanding contributions to healthcare delivery and public health advocacy. Known for her passionate focus on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and lifestyle illnesses, she has dedicated much of her career to raising public awareness and promoting preventative health measures.
Beyond clinical practice, she has become a vocal advocate for global health investments, actively championing Ghana as a prime destination for international healthcare partnerships.

A History of Heroism
This pan-African recognition comes two years after Dr. Addo-Klah made international headlines for her heroic, life-saving actions during a KLM flight from Amsterdam to Accra.
When a fellow passenger collapsed midair, she stepped forward under immense pressure to administer emergency medical care, successfully stabilizing the passenger until the flight landed.
