Accra Hearts of Oak have appointed Serbian tactician Nebojsa Kapor as their new head coach on a two-year contract ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The Phobians announced the appointment following what they described as a rigorous recruitment process aimed at restoring the club’s domestic dominance and enhancing its competitiveness in African club competitions.
Kapor returns to familiar territory, having previously managed Ghana Premier League sides Tema Youth, Bechem United and Medeama SC.
His extensive knowledge of the local game, coupled with his reputation for nurturing young talent and implementing an attacking style of football, played a significant role in his selection.
In a statement confirming the appointment, Hearts of Oak expressed confidence that the Serbian possesses the leadership qualities and technical expertise needed to usher the club into a new era of success.
“The Board is confident Coach Kapor has the leadership and technical competence to guide Hearts of Oak into a new era of stability and success,” the club said.
The club also urged its supporters to throw their full support behind Kapor and his technical team as they embark on the task of rebuilding the squad and returning Hearts to the summit of Ghanaian football while re-establishing the club as a formidable force in continental competitions.
Kapor takes charge following a disappointing 2025/26 campaign and will be expected to oversee a rebuilding process aimed at delivering improved performances and silverware in the upcoming season.
