The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has clarified that the current arrangement concerning the “Other Youth” category in its constituency elections remains in force.
In a statement dated September 12, 2026, and signed by the NDC General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the party said the decision follows a directive by its National Executive Committee (NEC) to maintain the existing status quo regarding the category.
The NDC explained that Congress may subsequently ratify the NEC’s decision to designate the “Other Youth” position as a second Deputy Constituency Youth Organiser.
If ratified, the arrangement will result in two Deputy Constituency Youth Organisers at the constituency level, with the officer elected under the “Other Youth” category enjoying all rights and privileges attached to the position.
It further called on members and the general public to cooperate with the party to ensure a transparent, orderly and credible electoral process.
