Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has once again strengthened his international profile after winning two major honours at the 43rd International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA), held in Florida over the weekend.
The award-winning musician, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, was crowned Best African Dancehall Entertainer and also picked up the award for Concert of the Year for his flagship event, ShattaFest. The recognition adds to his growing list of international achievements and further cements his influence on the global dancehall and reggae scene.
Following the announcement, Shatta Wale’s management expressed gratitude to the organisers of the awards for consistently recognising African talent on the world stage. They also acknowledged fans across the globe for their continuous support.

The two new awards bring Shatta Wale’s total number of IRAWMA honours to 11, underscoring his long-standing impact on the international reggae and dancehall industry. Over the years, he has remained a dominant force at the awards, consistently representing Ghana on the global stage.
At the previous edition of IRAWMA, he secured three awards, including Best African Dancehall Entertainer, Best Music Video for “Killa Ji Mi,” and Best Crossover Song for “Commando,” featuring Jamaican veteran artiste Bounty Killer.
