In a statement issued on May 13, 2026, management of Ghana Water Ltd explained that the difficulties at the treatment facility have affected water production and distribution to parts of the capital.
The affected areas include Dansoman, Mamprobi, Mataheko, Laterbiokorshie, Korle-Bu, La Paz, MacCarthy Hill, Gbawe, Mallam, Tesano, Darkuman, North Kaneshie, Dome, Achimota, Anyaa, Ablekuma and surrounding communities.
According to the company, engineers and technical teams are currently working to resolve the fault and restore normal water supply as quickly as possible.
