The Ghana Export-Import Bank (GEXIM) has launched a year-long programme of activities to mark the 10th anniversary of its establishment.
Speaking at the press launch of GEXIM@10 in Accra on Wednesday, the Chief Executive Officer of the Bank, Mr Sylvester Mensah, said the celebrations would culminate in a two-day international conference scheduled for March 25–26, 2026.
The conference will be held under the theme: “A Decade of Enabling Export Trade and Industrial Transformation: Resetting GEXIM for the Next Frontier.”
Mr Mensah explained that the conference would highlight GEXIM’s contributions to Ghana’s export diversification and industrial transformation, while also providing a platform for high-level dialogue on global trends shaping export finance and trade competitiveness.
According to him, the event would help strengthen partnerships with regional and international institutions and identify strategic reforms and innovations required for the Bank’s next phase of growth.
As part of the anniversary activities, GEXIM will also host an Agricultural, Agro-processing and Industrial Technology Fair, dubbed AGROTECH Fair 2026, to showcase locally manufactured agricultural machinery, implements, and agro-processing equipment and technologies.
In addition, the Bank has lined up several Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, alongside other activities aimed at highlighting its contribution to Ghana’s economic development over the past decade.
Mr Mensah noted that GEXIM, working with government, the private sector and international partners, has advanced its mandate of helping Ghana shift from exporting raw materials to exporting value-added products through financing, guarantees and technical assistance across priority sectors.
“Export growth is not a slogan. It is a system that requires patient and well-structured capital, effective risk-mitigation tools, and the discipline to compete,” he said.
He added that over the past ten years, GEXIM has supported Ghanaian enterprises to expand production, improve quality and access new markets, with a strong focus on the real economy where jobs are created and competitiveness is built.
The Board Chairman of GEXIM, Dr Nyarkotei Dorh, expressed pride in the Bank’s evolution into a strategic enabler of industry, value-chain development and Ghana’s participation in regional and global trade.
He stressed that export finance is not merely about funding transactions but about enabling transformation, noting that the next phase of Ghana’s economic development would depend on the country’s ability to add value, build resilient industries and earn more from what it produces.
Dr Dorh said the GEXIM@10 conference would be inclusive, bringing together EXIM banks and export credit agencies, development finance institutions, government ministries, commercial banks, diplomatic missions, GEXIM-supported businesses and other key stakeholders.
He added that the conference would be action-oriented, featuring plenary sessions, technical panels, exhibitions of GEXIM-funded enterprises, structured networking and a closing session focused on recommendations and next steps.
