SWIM appoints Evans Kyere-Mensah as Global Agritech & Climate Innovation advisor

The Student Workforce Innovation Movement (SWIM) has appointed agritech innovator Evans Kyere-Mensah as its Global Agritech & Climate Innovation Advisor to strengthen youth workforce development, climate-smart agriculture, and sustainable food systems.

The appointment forms part of SWIM’s efforts to connect students, universities, industry leaders, governments, and development organisations through innovation and workforce development initiatives designed to prepare young people for the evolving global economy.

Kyere-Mensah brings experience in agribusiness development, youth empowerment, agricultural value chain innovation, and climate-smart agriculture initiatives across Africa and international development networks.

In his new advisory role, he will support SWIM’s agritech education initiatives, university partnerships, and innovation programmes aimed at equipping students with skills and opportunities in agriculture and climate innovation.

According to SWIM Founder and CEO, Louv Afua Amoakowaa Ford, the appointment comes at a time when agriculture remains central to economic development, food security, and climate resilience globally.

“Evans brings a rare combination of agricultural innovation expertise, youth development leadership, and global perspective,” she said.

She added that SWIM’s goal is to connect students to agritech innovation ecosystems and institutional partnerships that prepare the next generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture and climate solutions.

As part of his responsibilities, Kyere-Mensah will contribute to the development of agritech education and certification programmes in collaboration with universities, expansion of climate-smart agriculture training initiatives, and partnerships with agribusiness companies and international development organisations.

He will also support innovation pilot projects and student-led agritech entrepreneurship initiatives under SWIM’s broader mission of building a global workforce ecosystem that drives innovation, job creation, and sustainable economic development.

Speaking on his appointment, Kyere-Mensah described agriculture as a sector undergoing rapid transformation through technology, climate adaptation, and emerging economic opportunities.

He said SWIM’s vision of connecting students with innovation ecosystems and industry partnerships would help empower young people to become future leaders in agriculture and climate resilience.

SWIM said the collaboration would help strengthen pathways for students to participate in agricultural innovation, support sustainable food systems, and promote entrepreneurship across emerging markets.
