Senegal and Morocco dominated the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 Best XI, with CAF’s Technical Study Group selecting four players from each finalist for the tournament’s top team.
CAF announced the lineup on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, following a detailed review of the month-long competition, which included live data analysis, multi-angle match footage, and on-site assessments.
Senegal, the tournament champions, had defender Moussa Niakhaté, midfielders Pape Gueye and Idrissa Gueye, and forward Sadio Mané included. Mané also earned Player of the Tournament honors after several decisive performances that helped secure Senegal’s title.
Morocco, the runners-up, featured goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, defenders Achraf Hakimi and Noussair Mazraoui, and attacker Brahim Díaz. Bounou was a key figure in Morocco’s defense, conceding only two goals in seven matches, while Díaz finished as the tournament’s top scorer.
Third-place Nigeria contributed three players: defender Calvin Bassey, winger Ademola Lookman, and striker Victor Osimhen, all of whom played pivotal roles in the Super Eagles’ strong showing.
CAF stated that the Team of the Tournament was selected based on consistent performance, tactical impact, and overall influence throughout the competition.
