Georgina Asare Fiagbenu, Acting General Manager for Sustainability and Shared Value at MTN Ghana, has reiterated the company’s commitment to investing in young people to build a sustainable foundation for their success.
She said this at the 2026 Success Africa Summit Grand Finale held at the Central University, where MTN partnered other institutions to empower the youth under the theme: Beyond Vision – Dare, Act, Achieve.
According to her, MTN’s sustained engagement with students through platforms such as the Success Africa initiative formed part of a deliberate strategy to equip young people with relevant skills, knowledge and exposure for the job market .
“We believe in the youth of this country and we are deliberate about investing in them. Building tomorrow’s leaders means equipping them with skills, knowledge and opportunities to interact with peers and potential employers,” she said.
Mrs Asare Fiagbenu explained that the MTN Ghana Foundation remained central to the company’s social impact interventions, particularly in youth empowerment and skills development.

She cited programmes such as the MTN Skills Academy, which provides practical training for young people across Ghana and other African countries to enhance their employability.
“This is not the only intervention. We run programmes that build practical skills for young people across the country and beyond, and we will continue to expand these efforts through various youth-focused platforms,” she added.
She noted that while programme themes might evolve annually, MTN’s focus on education and skills development would remain constant.
“Each year comes with a different focus, but our investment in education is consistent. Platforms like this are important for knowledge-sharing, networking and meaningful engagement,” she said.
Mrs Asare Fiagbenu further indicated that such initiatives also provided an opportunity to promote digital awareness, noting that young people played a critical role in information dissemination through social media.
“Young people share information rapidly across various platforms. As these programmes evolve, we will continue to adapt to meet the changing needs of our communities,” she said.
The summit, sponsored by MTN Ghana, GCB Bank and Lec Group, brought together students from various universities across the country , young professionals and industry players to inspire participants to take bold steps towards achieving their set goals.
Head of Legal and Reputational Management, Stakeholder Engagement at Mobile Money Limited, Paapa Osei, also urged the youth to take ownership of their personal journeys and remain resilient in the face of challenges.

“At one point in your life you will experience hindrance, but that should not stop you. Push past the fear and turn adversity into advantage,” he said.
He advised the students to reject excuses and take pragmatic steps towards achieving their goals, stressing that obstacles should be seen as tests of resilience.
For her part, the Head of Personal Banking at GCB Bank, Margaret Obimpeh, encouraged young people to go beyond academic certificates and acquire practical skills that would make them competitive in the job market.
She identified communication, digital literacy, problem-solving, networking and leadership as critical skills, adding that character and discipline were essential for sustaining success.
