President John Dramani Mahama has announced further changes to his administration, including the reassignment of two government officials to new roles.

Under the latest changes, Hon. Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo has been reassigned as Minister of State for Special Initiatives, while Hon. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum takes over as Minister for Labour, Employment and Job Creation.

President Mahama has also reassigned Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Ernest Brogya Genfi, to serve as Presidential Adviser on National Resilience and Emergency Preparedness.

The Presidency said the changes take immediate effect.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, and signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister of Government Communications and Spokesperson to the President.

The latest reshuffle forms part of President Mahama’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the effectiveness and coordination of his government as it pursues its development agenda.

The Presidency gave no further details on the reasons for the individual reassignments.
