Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale found himself extending a heartfelt apology to former President John Mahama, all while aboard a flight en route to London.

The unexpected encounter, narrated by Founder and President of Worldwide Miracle Outreach, Rev. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, unfolded into a moment of reconciliation witnessed by passengers and later shared online.

According to Dr. Tetteh, the incident occurred on Saturday, April 27, during a flight to London where both Shatta Wale and former President Mahama happened to be passengers. Seemingly unplanned, Shatta Wale approached Dr. Tetteh seeking assistance in making amends for past remarks made against the former President.

“I was going to London on Saturday, coincidentally Prez. John Mahama was on the flight and Shatta Wale was also on the flight, the way we were sitting as if it was planned. Then Shatta Wale walks to me and said Nuumo I want you to do me a favour. I throw certain words at former President John Mahama and I feel very guilty to go to him,” Dr. Tetteh recounted.

With Dr. Tetteh’s guidance, Shatta Wale approached John Mahama, publicly expressing his remorse and seeking forgiveness for his past comments. In a moment captured on video, Shatta Wale kneeled before the former President, who graciously accepted his apology, prompting an emotional reaction from the musician.

“I held his hands and I went to President John Mahama with him, it was on the plane publicly then Shatta Wale went on his knees and John Mahama said I have forgiven you, then Wale started crying,” Dr. Tetteh revealed in an interview on GTV.

The aftermath of the apology saw Shatta Wale sharing joyful moments with both John Mahama and Dr. Tetteh, signifying a newfound sense of reconciliation and understanding.
