The promotions were conferred on January 27, 2026, on officers who distinguished themselves in separate security operations that resulted in major successes in crime prevention and law enforcement.
In one operation in the Volta Region, the officers intercepted 10 wrapped slabs of substances suspected to be cocaine, with an estimated street value of GH¢1,032,650.00. In a related operation, sacks containing substances also suspected to be narcotic drugs were seized.
In another incident, a routine patrol at Jacobu led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, a pump-action gun and eight live AAA rounds of ammunition, highlighting the vigilance and commitment of the officers to public safety.
Congratulating the officers, Mr Yohuno, together with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), commended them for upholding the core values of the Ghana Police Service, particularly discipline, courage and professionalism.
The IGP urged the promoted officers to see their elevation as a call to higher responsibility and encouraged all personnel of the Service to continue to discharge their duties diligently. He reiterated that excellence, integrity and commitment to duty remain the principal criteria for recognition and promotion within the Ghana Police Service.
