Interior Ministry extends aptitude test deadline

The Ministry of the Interior has extended the aptitude test deadline for Category C (WASSCE) applicants under the 2025/2026 Centralized Services E-Recruitment Portal following technical challenges that disrupted the online assessment process for some candidates.

In a public notice issued on Saturday, the Ministry said the decision was taken to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all affected applicants who experienced difficulties submitting or completing their tests.

Under the revised arrangements, the aptitude test deadline for Category C applicants has been pushed to February 28, 2026.

A mop-up exercise will commence on Saturday, February 21, 2026, and will be conducted across the various service-based lots to allow candidates another opportunity to sit for the examination.

According to the Ministry, the mop-up exercise will be implemented in phases. Applicants seeking recruitment into the Ghana Immigration Service will take their tests from Saturday, February 21, to Monday, February 23.

This will be followed by candidates for the Ghana Police Service, who are scheduled to write from Tuesday, February 24, to Wednesday, February 25.

The final phase, covering the Ghana National Fire Service and the Ghana Prisons Service, will run from Thursday, February 26, to Friday, February 28.

Beyond the Category C extension, the Ministry also announced a general mop-up exercise for all categories — A, B and C — which will take place between Sunday, March 1, and Monday, March 2, 2026.

The results of the aptitude tests are expected to be published on March 4, 2026.

Applicants affected by the extension will receive SMS notifications directing them to log into the recruitment portal and retake the aptitude test within the new dates.

The Ministry clarified, however, that candidates who have already successfully completed the aptitude test — representing 82% of applicants — will not be permitted to log back into the system until the official release of results.

In a bid to address concerns and technical queries surrounding the recruitment process, the Ministry further announced plans to host a live social media engagement session.

The session, which will be led by a technical facilitator, is scheduled for Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 8:30 p.m. and is expected to provide clarity on issues related to the aptitude test and the broader recruitment exercise. Additional details, the Ministry said, will be communicated in due course.

The Ministry of the Interior urged all applicants to adhere strictly to the revised timetable and rely solely on official communications to avoid misinformation and confusion as the recruitment process progresses.
