CERELAC launches Akyɛdeɛ Pa Promotion

Nestlé Ghana Limited has launched the CERELAC Akyɛdeɛ Pa (The Good Gift) Promotion, its first national consumer promotion in Ghana, offering families across the country the opportunity to win cash and MoMo rewards, educational scholarships and an all-expenses-paid trip to Mauritius.

The promotion, which covers specially marked CERELAC rice, wheat and maize sachets, is aimed at rewarding generations of Ghanaian families for their loyalty to the brand and strengthening the relationship between CERELAC and its consumers.

Manager for Nutrition and Dairy Powders, Kwabena Aseidu Adaakwa, said the promotion was introduced as a way of appreciating families who have made CERELAC part of their children’s feeding journey over the years.

According to him, consumers who purchase three specially marked promotional sachets qualify to participate in the promotion. Each sachet contains a code that consumers can use to enter for a chance to win the various prizes.

He said the promotion includes instant cashback, MoMo rewards, educational scholarships and an all-expenses-paid trip to Mauritius.

Mr Adaakwa explained that the educational scholarships were an important addition to the promotion, particularly as families prepare for the new school year, adding that the initiative was designed to provide value and support to consumers.

He further noted that the promotion was the company’s first national consumer promotion for CERELAC, allowing consumers across Ghana to participate.

Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Manager for Nestlé, Deborah Kwablah, described CERELAC as a household brand specially positioned for children from six months and above as they transition from exclusive breastfeeding to complementary feeding.

According to her, CERELAC is produced in Ghana, with key ingredients and packaging materials sourced locally as part of efforts to support the country’s value chain.

She said the maize used in the production of the CERELAC maize variant is sourced from Ghana, while wheat powder used for the wheat variant is purchased locally.

She added that the company also considers the local farming and packaging value chains when sourcing materials for production.

Ms Kwablah said the local production of CERELAC makes the brand a product Ghanaians could be proud of, noting that it is produced at Nestlé’s Tema factory using locally sourced ingredients and materials where available.

She encouraged parents and caregivers of children under five to continue patronising CERELAC, highlighting its combination of macronutrients and essential micronutrients.

According to her, CERELAC products are fortified with nutrients such as iron and vitamins, alongside key ingredients including maize, wheat and rice, to support children’s nutritional needs as they begin complementary feeding.

Ms Kwablah said the nutritional composition of CERELAC was intended to provide children with macronutrients and essential micronutrients needed for their growth and development.

She urged consumers to continue supporting the locally produced brand and take advantage of the Akyɛdeɛ Pa Promotion, which offers a range of rewards, including the grand prize of an all-expenses-paid trip to Mauritius.

Consumers nationwide are required to look out for specially marked CERELAC sachets in the rice, wheat and maize variants.

To participate, they must purchase three sachets, open them to find the promotional codes and text the codes to *380*12# for a chance to win the various prizes.
