The deceased soldier, identified as 218079 Private Adotey of the 6th Infantry Battalion, reportedly died after an explosion occurred during operations in the Binduri Forest area.

The incident happened during “Exercise Storm Shield,” a military training programme designed to strengthen the readiness and operational capacity of security personnel in responding to emerging security threats, especially within vulnerable border communities.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the exercise, Major General Gbetanu described the late soldier as a dedicated serviceman who lost his life in active duty while serving the nation.

He acknowledged the risks associated with military service and paid tribute to Private Adotey’s commitment and sacrifice.
